Ireland’s Most Famous Hotelier Francis Brennan to Appear on TG4’s Ros na Rún

RTÉ’s At Your Service star, Francis Brennan will surprise Ros na Rún fans this week with a cameo appearance on the show. The TV star and Park Hotel Kenmare owner is one of Ireland’s most loved and respected personalities, and his role on Ros na Rún will undoubtedly excite fans!

The episode, which airs on Thursday the 12th of May, 8.30pm on TG4 will see TV Star Francis Brennan play himself as he arrives in Ros na Rún to offer his critique on the soap opera’s restaurant Gaudi.

Pádraig, Ros na Rún’s restaurant manager, invites Francis to his eaterie with dreams of securing a place for Gaudi’s restaurant on Francis’ hit RTÉ hospitality makeover show At Your Service. Sophisticated Pádraig is adamant to transform Gaudi’s from a rural village restaurant into a stylish and cosmopolitan establishment. Pádraig pulls out all the stops to wow Francis, but Francis is no easy critic; and viewers will anxiously await his verdict as he determines whether Gaudi’s lives up to his impeccably high standards!

This exciting cameo appearance further highlights Francis’ admiration for the Irish language, having featured on TG4’s Scéalta na nOstán, a nostalgic series that revealed the history and inside stories of Ireland’s landmark hotels.

Speaking about his experience on Ros na Rún, Francis said: “I’m so excited to make my acting debut on Ros na Rún, I’m a big fan of the show and it’s always something I’ve wanted to do and it was a great opportunity to brush up on my cúpla focal. The cast and crew were so helpful and we had great fun filming the episode!” Francis prepared for his role on the hit soap opera by spending hours watching the show, learning to understand the various accents and different dialects of each character.

Viewers will have to tune in to see whether Gaudi’s will hit the high note with Mr. Brennan or will Pádraig face a big disappointment!

Series producer Deirdre Ní Fhlatharta highlighted the excitement of having Francis on set and said “Francis was an absolute pleasure to work with and we loved having him on set. We have written a story that captures Francis’ energetic personality that he’s renowned and loved for. We were all so impressed with his acting abilities and presence on the show, and we look forward to welcoming him back, perhaps for an ‘At Your Service’ inspection of Tigh Thaidhg next time!”
