Jameson Bow St Distillery Named World’s Best Whiskey Attraction

Today Irish Distillers announced that the Jameson Distillery has been named the world’s most visited whiskey experience. Irish Distillers is Ireland’s leading supplier of wines, spirits and produces the world’s most famous Irish whiskey, Jameson.

As Jameson Distillery Bow Street celebrates this amazing achievement it beats out competition from experiences in America and Scotland. In one year alone the distillery welcomed visitors from over 70 countries and served over 50,000 Jameson whiskey sours.

The number of visitors rose to more than 350,000 since it reopened in March 2017, following an €11 million refurbishment. Claire Tolan, Managing Director the Home of Jameson Brand, commented on the announcement saying “we look forward to welcoming even more visitors to Bow Street and the Jameson Distillery Midleton over the next year”.

The redeveloped Home of Jameson brand places storytelling at the very centre of the visitor attraction. Visitors are invited to touch, smell and taste Jameson on one of the five guided tours on offer at the Bow Street Distillery.

Claire notes that “entertainment is more immersive and interactive than ever before”. With thousands of visitors coming to the distillery to enjoy the storytelling and hearing about the 230 year old history of Bow Street. The flagship tour “Bow St. Experience” is centered around the rich heritage and ever evolving innovations of Jameson.

For those looking for a more in-depth look into whiskey and cocktails the “The Whiskey Makers” and “The Whiskey Shakers” experience is the perfect choice. There is a premium whiskey tasting in the secret office of John Jameson and opportunities to taste whiskey straight from a maturation cask.

The celebrations didn’t stop there as it was also announced that Jameson Distillery Bow St. received a Themed Entertainment Association (TEA) Thea Award for Outstanding Achievement in the Brand Experience category at the awards ceremony in California. Commenting on the award, John Carroll, Marketing and Sales Manager for the Home of Jameson Brand said the team are “absolutely thrilled to be recognised in this category”
