Java Republic Launch Their First High Street Café

Java Republic have expanded their operations by opening their first high street café at 37 Molesworth Street, Dublin 2.

To mark the occasion they have conducted a survey of 270 tea and coffee drinkers across Ireland to learn more about consumer trends.

62% drink both with a small majority saying they have a slight preference for coffee 60%. Of those that drink coffee, 40% opt for Americanos, 23% prefer cappuccinos and 17% choose lattes.

It’s no surprise that 58% still drink traditional Irish Breakfast Tea. Green Tea came in second at 13% and Peppermint Tea followed on 12%.

Most people in Ireland are drinking 1-3 cups per day but 10% consume over 5 cups. 78% of people surveyed drink tea or coffee because of the taste while 30% said they drink it to heat them up, which is no surprise in this weather and 23% use it to keep them awake.

The opening of the new café is the next step for the company which has enjoyed massive growth and success recently from winning awards to launching new products and securing new contracts. The boutique-style café is open Monday-Friday 7am – 6pm & Saturday 9am – 5pm and offers a range of speciality coffees from award winning blends to rare single origin coffees and a large variety of award winning teas. They are also serving a range of carefully selected breakfast and lunch items using the best locally sourced ingredients.

MD of Java Republic Grace O’Shaughnessy says, “As a company, we are extremely passionate about everything we do from crop to cup and are incredibly proud of the brand that we have created. Indeed we have great ambitions for the brand and it is very exciting for us to realise one of our dreams of opening a café.
