Jazz up Your Bank Holiday Weekend With These Culinary Delights

If you’re travelling to the Guinness Cork Jazz Festival this bank holiday weekend, you’re in for plenty of treats! The festival will be jam-packed with delicious local produce, pints of Guinness, and sounds of jazz in a number of venues across Cork city.

Four of Cork’s most exciting restaurants have worked with Guinness to create bespoke dishes for the festival weekend. Visit The Courtyard on Sober Lane where you can feast on a Full Irish Pizza, created using local produce. This mouth-watering pizza includes Clonakilty black pudding, Loughnane’s sausage, McCarthy’s bacon, mushroom & Bandon eggs on a sourdough base. Breakfast for dinner is finally acceptable!

If the pizza didn’t fill you to the brim, don’t hesitate to order the delicious Brownie Dessert with raspberries, strawberries, vanilla ice cream and a brittle caramel square with nuts. This indulgent dessert pairs perfectly with with Guinness, as the beer enhances the luxurious chocolate in the brownie and blends smoothly with the ice cream.

The Electric will be offering its signature dish, The Electric Duck burger, with chicken liver parfait, fennel, apple, celeriac and chips. Pair this dish with a pint of Guinness, enhancing the flavours of the fennel as well as the aniseed tone of the celeriac, to satisfy your palate entirely.

Make your way to The Cornerstone where they are offering a Guinness and seafood classic in its truest form: mussels in a creamy sauce. The malt in Guinness brings the sweetness of the mussels to the forefront and the creamy texture of the nitrogen enhances the sauce. The perfect food match to complete your weekend of culinary delights.

Finally, The Oliver Plunkett will be offering a classic lamb and Guinness stew from the English market. This is a food pairing that offers intense and lasting flavours and brings both a good body and a velvety taste. This warming, comforting dish gives you the perfect excuse to escape the cold.

Each of these dishes was hand selected, to offer the ultimate beer and food experience at the
Guinness Cork Jazz Festival. The festival takes place from 25th – 29th October and for more information, visit guinnessjazzfestival.com.
