JUST EAT and Peter McVerry Trust to Collaborate at Electric Picnic

JUST EAT will use its prominent presence at Electric Picnic to help drive awareness on the issue of homelessness. They will strengthen their partnership with Peter McVerry Trust, JUST EAT’s official charity partner, focusing their efforts specifically around the Housing First initiative.

Working with Peter McVerry Trust, one of the ‘Tent Talks’ will focus on this growing social issue. A representative from Peter McVerry Trust will have a dedicated speaking sloth on lunchtime on Saturday 3rd September at Electric Picnic to discuss the issue of youth homelessness and the work the charity has done about it.

JUST EAT will also help to raise vital funds for the charity by looking for a voluntary contribution for the treats on offer at the JUST EAT Retreat, launched yesterday 27th of July, with all funds raised going to Peter McVerry Trust’s work to provide housing solutions for young people experiencing homelessness.

The launch of the JUST EAT Retreat was highlighted by a surprise performances by the Strypes and Katie Laffan at a pop up Retreat at Grand Canal Dock. The Strypes and Le Galaxie are supporters of Peter McVerry Trust. Anne-Marie Connolly, Director of Fundraising at Peter McVerry Trust said: “The JUST EAT Retreat gives us a unique opportunity to highlight the role that we play in society helping vulnerable young people experiencing homelessness to a whole new group of people. We are delighted to work with JUST EAT and are really grateful to The Strypes, Le Galaxie and Word Up Collective for lending their support to this important initiative.”
