Kildare Village Presents ‘From the Isle’ Summer Series Celebrating Irish Design, Craft, Food & Music

Throughout the summer Kildare Village is hosting a series of cultural events inspired by the craft, design and creativity of Ireland. The ‘From the Isle‘ series offers visitors the chance to experience a range of Irish talent through performances, exhibitions, talks, demonstrations and culinary creatives.

The Só Collective will host a series of ‘From the Maker’ demonstrations and talks with emerging and established Irish craft creatives and designers. Bringing traditional methods and modern design together, the makers will be displaying their skills in millinery, basket-weaving, ceramics, furniture and lighting design, pottery, rug making, textile design, and weaving.

The shopping outlet is home to over eighty boutiques and has long been a showcase for Irish design talent. The Só Collective will also feature the stars of contemporary Irish fashion with collections from established and emerging designers. Visitors can perfect their signature style with styling lessons from Natalie Svikle.

There is also a strong emphasis in Kildare Village on great food. The ‘From the Isle’ food series is a unique culinary programme of tastings, workshops and pop ups featuring some of Ireland’s most prominent food creatives. A dedicated restaurant trail will also feature signature ‘From the Isle’ dishes, celebrating the best of Irish produce and food culture.

This weekend, as the retail outlet celebrates 10 years of business, a range of musical performances will take place. ‘Sounds from the Isle‘ will feature music from The Whileaways and Sean Nós dancing with Sibéal Davitt and Emma O’Sullivan. You can also enjoy classical, traditional and Operatic performances throughout the series.

From the Isle‘ is a celebration of Ireland’s creative sector and displays the commitment of Kildare Village to supporting it.
