Love Alice in Wonderland? This Dublin Hotel Announces their Mad Hatter Afternoon Tea

Don’t be late for a very important date – the Mad Hatter’s Fusion Tea at Clontarf Castle Hotel this April.

Indulge in an eclectic mix of magically crafted afternoon tea delights in a beautiful 12th century castle setting, with the Mad Hatter’s Fusion Tea at Clontarf Castle Hotel.

Available in the Atrium at Clontarf Castle Hotel during the month of April, this is an afternoon tea with a difference, inspired by the idea of stepping though the looking glass into Wonderland and incorporating elements from food cultures all over the world.

With two chapters, one sweet and one savoury, presented together in a handsome wooden cabinet that opens out like a book, Chapter 1 is called Down the Rabbit Hole, and includes a delicious array of savoury goodies. Chapter 1, Down the Rabbit Hole, features goat’s cheese and spiced pea samosa with apricot chutney, Vietnamese rice paper rolls with peanut dipping sauce, lemon roast chicken with chorizo jam, red pepper gel & basil aïoli, open crab with avocado and Bloody Mary gel, and rare beef with onion marmalade, rocket, tomato relish and truffle aïoli.

In Chapter 2 – called Who Stole the Tarts? – the focus is on all things sweet with this side of the book full of delectable baked goods and dainty desserts including lemon & blueberry and strawberry & almond scones, blackberry cheesecake with compressed apples and honeycomb, lemon sponge with DoMatcha green tea mousse and lemon curd, sable biscuit with dark chocolate quenelle and textures of raspberry, and a rich carrot cake with ginger cream and candied pecans.

Bold, dramatic and packed full of vivid colours and flavours, the Mad Hatter’s Afternoon Tea at Clontarf Castle Hotel is served in the impressive Atrium from Thursday to Sunday from 12.30 p.m. to 16.30 p.m. during April. It costs €42 per person with Bewleys finest loose leaf tea and fresh ground coffee beans, or €48 per person with a bespoke and luxurious Wonderland cocktail, specially designed by the Clontarf Castle bar team.

Pre-booking is essential 48 hours in advance. To book call +353 1 8332321 or visit www.clontarfcastle.ie
