Do you love Gin?! Well.. this is the festival for you!

Gin drinkers listen up.. The Latin Quarter in Galway city plays host to ‘Gin Fest’ a 4 day celebration of all things related to Gin & Tonic from Thursday 6th – Sunday 9th June 2019! With the pinnacle of the festival being #WorldGinDay on Saturday 8th June.

Promising a weekend of gin-joyment, a range of fun and interactive events will be taking place during the day and night in the bars, businesses & restaurants of The Latin Quarter! Highlights include; Master Classes and Tastings, Gin Specials and Promotions, Gin Giveaways, Gin Cruises, Gin Afternoon Tea, Gin Trails, Food & Gin Pairings, Gin Cocktails & Competitions, Gin Forages, New Gin Launches and Gin Experientials to name just some of the GINteresting events planned.

The Latin Quarter Gin Fest will also be celebrating World Gin Day on Saturday 8th June, with the return of ‘The Gin Village’ from 5-7pm in The Quays Bar! Think live DJ, pop up bars that you can stroll through and sample a range of complimentary G&Ts! Tickets are available on Eventbrite and are sure to get snapped up fast!

Venues include; 1520, Busker Brownes Bar & Kirbys Restaurant, Cava – Spanish Restaurant and Tapas Bar, Freeneys Bar, Jurys Inn Galway, Martines Quay Street, Pálás & Merrow, Seven Bar, Taaffes Bar, Bunch Of Grapes, The Dáil Bar, The Dew Drop Inn, The Front Door Pub Galway, Tigh Neachtain, Kasbah Wine Bar, The Kings Head, The Liquor Lounge, Quays Bar, The House Hotel & The Yard and Tigh Nora Galway.

A selection of your favourite gin and tonic brands will be showcasing at The Latin Quarter Gin Fest such as; Method and Madness, Beefeater, Cork Dry Gin, Monkey 47, Fever-Tree, Hendrick’s Gin, Schweppes, Míl, London Essence, Tanqueray, Gordon’s Gin, Gunpowder Gin, Micil Distillery, Sling Shot, Dingle, Puerto de Indias, Silver Spear, Bombay Sapphire, Nora’s Irish Gin and Conncullin Gin to name but a few!

The focus of the festival is to encourage people to try a variety of gin and tonic brands now available on the market, from Irish to international creations. Many events are even free of charge to attend! There will also be a focus on the education side of how gin is made for both the trade and public, learning about the perfect serve when choosing garnishes and how tonics enhance the flavour of your drink. Put simply, you’ll be a ‘ginius’ at the end of the festival.

Galway is renowned as the city of festivals and Gin Fest is the perfect opportunity for both locals and visitors to explore the vibe of The Latin Quarter, with a G&T in hand. It’s often referred to as the cultural heart of Galway city, with many family ran and independently owned businesses. It’s where locals want to socials and visitors want to spend time in the city.
