Marlfield House, Gorey, Co. Wexford

Marlfield House has long been recognised as one of the most celebrated country house hotels in Ireland.

Situated just one hour south of Dublin, it is surrounded by manicured gardens and exudes a luxurious and welcoming atmosphere. On entering the impressive hall it is immediately evident that Marlfield is a much-loved house filled with flowers, paintings, antiques and blazing fires.

The 19 individually decorated bedrooms at Marlfield range from cosy standards to grand state rooms, and the Master Suite. All have marble bathrooms and many have views over the gardens and lake. Throughout, the meticulous attention to detail is apparent.

Long time members of Ireland’s Blue Book and the prestigious Relais et Chateaux associations, Marlfield built its reputation on its food, much of which is grown in their extensive kitchen gardens and sourced in the locality.

RESTAURANTS AT MARLFIELD HOUSE

With the addition of The Duck Restaurant in 2015 Marlfield now has two uniquely different dining experiences to choose from. The award winning fine dining Conservatory House Restaurant provides a classical dining experience surrounded by sparkling silver, flowers and overlooking the manicured lawns and serves an early bird dinner, a five course dinner and traditional Sunday lunch menus. Duncannon fish, Wexford lamb and beef, vegetables and herbs from the garden and local cheeses all feature strongly on the menus.

The Duck is in restored courtyard buildings situated on the grounds of Marlfield House. With French doors opening onto the terrace overlooking the kitchen garden filled with vegetables, soft fruits, a plethora of herbs and beds of blooming roses it provides a unique relaxed dining experience for cocktails, lunch, dinner and coffees throughout the year. The chefs cook using fresh and exciting ingredients from the garden and locality and the food is modern fusion and Italian, best described as delicious and moreish. Light dishes including antipasta, flatbreads and dips, exciting salads, duck, steaks, fish and much more.
