This Gorgeous Rosé from Provence is a Fabulous Glass of Summer
The mere mention of the French region of Provence evokes a myriad of wonders that please our senses: from the colourful spectacle of the lavender fields to the feel of the warming kiss of the sun in the Côte d’Azur, from the joie de vivre experienced when driving by its idyllic country roads, to the exuberant appeal of its picturesque markets.
And while beautiful all year round, Provence truly comes to life during the summer, the perfect season to drink the gorgeous and elegant rosé wines that the region has to offer.
Mirabeau Rosé 2016 embodies all that we know and love about rosé wines from Provence. It’s literally a dream come true, as winemaker Stephen Cronk left his life in London’s hectic corporate world to pursue his passion, arriving to the Provençal village of Cotignac in 2009 with his family and his project.
It’s light in appearance, bright powder pink coloured and has aromas of juicy pink grapefruit and raspberries. Its 13.5% ABV keeps up with its acidity and it has a mineral note on the palate that adds a pleasant tension that ensures you won’t get bored after a few sips.
It’s elegant and subtle, with the abounding notes of fresh red berries that its blend of Cinsault, Grenach and Syrah provides and the crisp and clean finish that distinguishes modern and sophisticated rosés.
Just as Provence itself, it’s beautiful all year round, but it will be specially fabulous during the summer. If you are looking for a dish to accompany it, perhaps try pork chops salad with apple and pecan, chicken and bacon salad or a blood orange and roast butternut salad.
Mirabeau Rosé 2016 is available at O’Briens Wine at €16.95 and it’s on a special summer promotion: buy 1 get 1 half price.
