Located in Temple Bar, Montys of Kathmandu is an award winning traditional and authentic Nepalese Restaurant.

Owned by husband and wife team, Shiva and Lina Gautam, they opened their doors to the public in 1997.

Now in its 20th year, Montys is continuing to serve great Nepalese food to the Irish public and is now one of Dublin’s premium ethnic restaurants.

Among their awards include winning Best Wine List at the 2016 Good Eating Guide to Ireland and Best Wine in Dublin in 2015 at Restaurant Oscars. They’ve also picked up the Best Ethnic Award at The Good Food Eating Guide in 2015.

MENUS AND OPENING HOURS

Montys focuses on good quality ingredients, preparing all of their dishes in house with the best quality raw ingredients.

They use traditional charcoal tandoor to give their barbecued dishes and Nan breads that delicious smokey taste.

Lunch Mon to Sat: 12.00 -14.00

Dinner Sat: 17.30 – 22.30

COOKERY CLASS

Montys hosts a number of Nepalese Home Cooking Classes with Lina Gautam. The classes are small, relaxed and informal.

For just €50 per person, Lina will teach you everything from blending your spices to creating a full traditional Nepali meal to impress your family and friends.

The class lasts for approximately 1.5 – 2 hours and this is followed by a 3-course Nepalese meal cooked by the chefs at Montys.
