Dublin Bound – Three New Hotels Set To Open Across The City

Dublin could be set for a major hotel boost over the next few years as planning permission has been sought for three new hotels in the city.

The first is a planned 9-storey hotel in Dublin city centre. These plans were submitted by property developer Noel Smyth and the 365-room hotel is set to be operated by budget hotel chain, Motel One.

In order to build the new hotel, Smyth’s company, Fitzwilliam Real Estate Capital, plans to demolish several buildings on the north side of the city.

The second development comes in the form of a 6-storey extension to the popular Temple Bar Inn, who have already applied to Dublin City Council for planning permission.

New Hotels

The new development will be located at the back of the current Temple Bar Inn building and will be built over an existing ground floor, bringing the size of the new inn to 7 storeys.

The third and final hotel development (for now) is a new boutique hotel on the south side of Dublin city. Owner of Bloom’s Hotel and Temple Bar’s Oliver St John pub, Martin Keane, has yet to submit planning permission for the proposed 50 room hotel in Ballsbridge.

Should the hotel be given the go-ahead, it will be run by Keane himself, who already owns the properties on Pembroke road.

If these hotels are all approved, the increased hotel development will definitely cater to Dublin’s ever-growing tourist population.
