One of the World’s Best Restaurants is Reopening and Three Irish Chefs Will Be at the Stoves

After much anticipation, the four-time winner of the World’s Best Restaurant title, noma in Copenhagen has announced that it will reopen on February 15th 2018.

Taking to social media to share the news, the restaurant, run by ground breaking chef René Redzepi, simply stated “Friends, we’re back!” and invited fans to visit their website for more information on the booking process for “the new noma.”

noma will start taking bookings for the dining window between February 15th and April 29th 2018 on November 16th 2017, 4pm local time in Copenhagen (CET) at noma.dk/reservations.

‘noma 2.0’ was due to reopen this December, with members of the team taking the past year to travel abroad and throughout the Nordic region to revisit current collaborators and seek out new ones.

And while you might not have plans to visit Copenhagen in the near future what makes this news all the more interesting for an Irish audience is that there will be three chefs from Ireland manning the stoves.

Chef Cúán Greene who has been working with noma since earlier this year revealed the extended Irish connection posting on Twitter the news of the reopening adding “And there will be three Irish involved this time 🍀 #noma2.0”

Cúán also announced earlier in the week that he will be returning home in December to work a stint at Bastible, the newly Michelin Bib Gourmand awarded eatery on South Circular Road, Dublin 8.

Over the past year noma has travelled the world, popping up in 2016 in Australia, in Mexico this summer, and hosted a series of dinners at Manhattan’s members-only club Spring Place.

In Copenhagen the team behind the restaurant opened pop-up restaurant called Under the Bridge which ran from 19th of July until the 3rd of September.

The three Michelin star restaurant has also opened a casual spin-off restaurant, 108 Copenhagen run by 29-year-old chef Kristian Baumann. The restaurant was awarded its own Michelin star in the 2017 edition of the Michelin Guide to the Nordic Countries.
