Yesterday Union Café opened a new café in the heart of Churchtown. Open seven days a week, the new location will be serving breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as brunch every weekend.
The new Union Café is flooded with natural light from six large skylights and has beautiful exposed wooden beams. The focus of the café is the striking marble-topped bar surrounded by bright green tiles.
The café features a mixture of booths with window partitions, stools at the bar and tables, so there is plenty of space for you to cosy up with a coffee.
Head Chef Siobhan MacDonagh is bringing the most loved and favourite dishes from Union’s sister café in Mount Merrion to Churchtown. Diners can feast on culinary delights such as seafood chowder, wood-fired pizzas, fresh pasta dishes and delicious catch of the day.
For breakfast, indulge in Egg & Avocado Skillet – a moreish dish of poached egg, crushed avocado, ricotta cheese, grilled tomato and toasted sourdough.
For lunch, you can sample a sumptuous selection of fresh seafood – Hake Tempura served with rocket and tikka dressing, Spiced Calamari with lemon aioli and rocket or Battered Fish Taco with mango and basil salsa. The Confit of Pork Belly sounds particularly divine – served with apple glaze and chutney sauce.
There are lots of tasty tipples on offer too. Enjoy handcrafted cocktails or choose your favourite wine from Union’s bespoke wine cabinet. Pair your freshly baked pastry with custom blend coffees, teas and juices. There is also a kids menu that has something the little ones will love, from penne paste to mozzarella fritters.
The new location is perfect for those heading to the nearby Dundrum Town Centre. It’s ideal for a visit pre or post-Christmas shopping, catching up with friends over a leisurely brunch or a quick morning coffee.
