Social Gallery – Greenes Restaurant Celebrates Rhône Valley Wine Week with Seasonal Food and Wine

Multi-award-winning Greenes Restaurant in Cork, in association with Tindal Wines, hosted a special evening to celebrate Rhône Valley Wine Week.

Greenes Restaurant offered diners an eight-course tasting dinner of the very finest local, seasonal produce. The food was prepared by award-winning executive head chef Bryan McCarthy, paired with some of the very finest wines from the Château Pesquié winery in the world-renowned Rhône Valley wine region in France.

Bryan McCarthy said: “It’s always a pleasure as a chef to work with the best winemakers and match great produce. I am particularly proud of the produce we have in Cork and Château Pesquié is one of the best in the Rhône Valley. I am really looking forward to the collaboration and presenting this to our guests on the evening.”

The eight-course menu celebrated the best winter ingredients produced and grown in Cork, including seasonal snacks, seafood, game and cheeses. Each dish reflected executive head chef Bryan McCarthy’s ethos for putting local, seasonal, wild food from Cork at the centre of the menus in Greenes.

Damien Archer-Good of Tindal Wines commented: “Rhône Wine Week is a week-long celebration of the wines of the Rhône Valley. Now in its fifth year, the week sees Rhône producers flying over to Ireland to help Irish wine lovers discover more about this amazing region.”

Greenes’ sommelier Frank Schiltkamp addded: “Here at Greenes Restaurant, wine is a very important part of our overall dining experience so we are delighted to make our own contribution to Rhône Wine Week Ireland.”
