Serve up a Breakfast Bonanza with Jack & Eddies Range of High Quality Pork Products

The O’Malley Family had been farming pigs in the hills between Westport in Co. Mayo and Leenane, Co. Galway for five generations in 2011, when Farmer Eddie, with the help of his (then) 6 year old son Jack, decided to start selling a range of high quality pork products, and sell them under the banner of their own names- JACK & EDDIE’S.

The bold Jack is now 14 years old!  And the premium sausages and rashers, all produced from prime cuts, and sourced from only Bord Bia approved Irish pork, are now stocked nationwide!

Family is at the heart of the Jack & Eddies story and brand, and in the wake of the recent social restrictions and distancing, the family owned and run company, which also includes Ray, Paul, Lennie, Pat and Marian, came to realise that it was the long leisurely family meal times, usually taking place over the weekend which they, and their customers missed the most.

Speaking about his own personal experience of the 2020 lockdown, Farmer and Jack & Eddies CEO Eddie O’Malley said,

“It has been a very tough 4 months for everyone, both personally and professionally. Over the last 9 years in business, the Jack & Eddies team would traditionally be out on the road at food markets and festivals at this time of year, sampling the product and chatting to our customers, but the lockdown and social restrictions limited our ability to speak to our customers in the flesh which we love to do, however we have been busy reaching out to our customers online, and offering them a selection of delicious Jack & Eddies inspired recipes to trial and perfect. Anecdotally, when we asked our customers what they missed the most during the lockdown, the answer always was a variation on the same response, which was basically sitting down with family and friends over some good food, for a catch up and a chat. And as a family run business, we can relate to that!”

The Jack & Eddies range of high quality pork products are versatile, and are the perfect foundation for a family breakfast, brunch, BBQ or summer picnic, they include;

The Jack & Eddie’s Sausage – where it all started! These delicious award winning sausages are made using a mixture of the finest cuts of pork, and crafted using traditional methods that have been passed down through the generations. The sausages, (which contain less water and rusk than standard sausages on the market)  have been the recipient of the Gold Award in the Blas na hEireann Breakfast Sausage Category in 2015, 2016, and 2019, and Silver (in the same category) in 2017.

Jack & Eddie’s black and white puddings both combine mild seasoning with a  mixture of oatmeal and barley that deliver an irresistible texture, and Jack & Eddie’s rashers are slowly dry cured, through a process based on traditional methods.

The range of products are widely available in Dunnes Stores and Super Valu shops across the west, the midlands, Dublin and surrounding areas. A lot of effort is being made to expand further south, and more recently they are available in Cork city and county.

The sausages retail at €3.59, with puddings retailing at €2.59 and rashers at €3.00

Jack & Eddie’s is the O’Malley family business, based in Co. Mayo.
