The Natural Bakery is celebrating Sourdough September with a series of free demonstrations through the month at their Donnybrook branch. They’ll also give away free sourdough starter kits to those wishing to learn how to bake their own real sourdough.
The demonstrations will take place every Wednesday of September between 6:00 pm and 8:00 pm in Donnybrook (4 Donnybrook Mall, Dublin 4) and they’ll be guided by experienced bakers from their in-house team. You’ll be able to discover what makes sourdough bread unique and to taste an authentic and freshly baked loaf.
If you fancy making it at home, you’re in luck, as they’ll be giving away free sourdough starter kits in all their shops. With 11 locations in Dublin and one in Kildare, you’ll easily find a shop that suits you.
Sourdough bread is made from natural occurring yeast in flour and only needs three ingredients: starter (flour+water), salt and more flour. We make ours the traditional way, no rush, no additives, just the freshest, and one of the healthiest beads you can enjoy #bread #bakery #Baker #baking # sourdough #sourdoughstarter #natural #food #Irish #IrishFood
Sourdough bread differs from other types because it uses naturally occurring yeast instead of the added one. It’s name is a nod to the mildly acidic flavour resulting from its long fermenting process, which allows the bread to grow and develop a delightful spongy crumb and crisp crust.
