Taste of Dublin 2016 Festival Launched Last Night at Farrier & Draper

The who’s who of Ireland’s food scene gathered yesterday 27th April at the newly opened Farrier & Draper venue on South William Street to celebrate the launch of Taste of Dublin 2016. Avril Bannerton, Managing Director of the festival welcomed the selected attendees and introduced comedian Marcus O’Laoire as the evening’s MC.

Guests included comedian Oliver Callan, Red Rock’s Patrick Ryan, RTE 2 First Dates Maître D’ Mateo Sania, chefs Ross Lewis, Kevin Dundon and Andrew Rudd, Robin Gill, Simon Lamont and Anna Haugh. Cora Jane Wynne Marketing Manager for O’Brien’s Wines, Declan Maxwell from SMS Luna and Sunil Ghai from recently opened Pickle.

The occasion was ideal for the debut of Open Gate Brewery’s Taste Strawberry Porter, specially created for the festival. Farrier & Draper canapès were shared alongside mouth-watering dishes by chef Stephen Gibson from the newly revamped Pichet restaurant.

The Taste of Dublin festival will take place at the gorgeous Iveagh Gardens from Thursday, June 16th to Sunday, June 19th. Visitors will be spoiled for choice with over 12 restaurants featuring 3 signature tasting plates each and thanks to the presence from more than 60 award-wining producers.
