Taste of Dublin Dishes up Another Food Extravaganza at the Iveagh Gardens

Foodies from all over Ireland will flock to the Iveagh Gardens over the next 4 days for Dublin’s favourite culinary event, Taste of Dublin, sponsored by Electrolux. Launching today, Thursday 16th, and running until Sunday 19th June, Taste of Dublin will once again champion the vibrant and diverse Irish culinary scene. Over 30,000 visitors are expected to attend across the weekend to enjoy the festival’s exciting live chef demonstrations at the Electrolux Taste Theatre and Chefs’ Secrets, dishes from some of Ireland’s best restaurants, live entertainment, family fun and so much more.

Honouring the best of Irish food both at home and abroad, this year’s Taste of Dublin has adopted a special Homecoming theme, with thanks to Chill Insurance, as it welcomes home some of the leading Irish chefs making waves internationally. The Homecoming line-up includes Washington-based Cathal Armstrong, Anna Haugh, Gordon Ramsay’s former Head Chef, the critically acclaimed Robin Gill, US celebrity TV chef Stuart O’Keeffe, Patrick Powell, Head Chef at London’s infamous Chiltern Firehouse and London-based “Lazy Chef” Simon Lamont.

The annual Best in Taste Awards, sponsored by Nespresso Business Solutions, honoured the festival’s Best Feature, Best Dish, Best Restaurant Front and Best Exhibitor. The winners were:

– Best Feature – Franciscan Well Brewery

– Best Dish – Gold Soder & Ko , Silver Saba Restaurant, Bronze Sika Restaurant

– Best Restaurant Front – F. X. Buckley Steakhouse

– Best Exhibitor – The Shebeen

On Friday 17th, the festival will for the first time champion the new kids on the block of the Irish food scene with Bunzl McLaughlin backing the Rising Star award (winner announced on Friday 17th), proving that the festival is dedicated to supporting and nurturing new Irish culinary talent.

Mingle with exciting chefs, test your culinary skills or simply relax, enjoy the live entertainment and the delicious line up from the city’s best!
