Three-starred Chef Quique Dacosta Speaks at Food on the Edge

At the first edition of the Irish food symposium Food On The Edge, the renowned chef, Quique Dacosta, shared his vision on the Future of Food, the theme of the first edition of the two day event. Under the title “Gastronomy – Food – Feeding”, Dacosta, an Honorary Doctor of Fine Arts, showed the audience his personal vision on food, gastronomy and the challenges this disciplines are facing.

We need to be innovative with our cooking and eating habits. Prevent waste and work to benefit society. Food is not restricted to just eating“. The chef debated about issues such vanguard, the role of chefs in today’s society and the terrible reality of our time; hunger. “Let’s put our creativity to work for the benefit of society“, concluded the chef based in Denia.

Food On The Edge brought together international speakers representing a total of 39 Michelin stars, who shared their views on nutrition, food and the role of the culinary arts.

The chef has transformed the Quique Dacosta Restaurant, three-Michelin-starred and a place on Restaurant magazine’s prestigious list “The World’s 50 Best Restaurants”, into one of the finest restaurants in the world.

Dacosta, the only three-starred chef in Valencian region, is also the owner of El Poblet (1*), Vuelve Carolina and MercatBar restaurants in Valencia. He has just published his fourth book “3. Quique Dacosta” and is currently immersed in his 2015 culinary offering, Estados de Ánimo (Moods) at his restaurant in Denia.
