Last weekend, a new café opened its doors on Clanbrassil Street. The Thursday Café, which will in fact be open everyday for breakfast, lunch and treats, was a favourite of visitors to the Dublin Food Co-Op and it has now grown into its own venue.
Aga Sierpinska, owner of the café, pointed out that “there is something for everyone”, she mentioned that in its new location, the café will offer a combination of vegetarian and non-vegetarian options. The lunch menu includes a changing Dish of the Day, quiche with salad and a variety of sandwiches. Breakfast is served all day and options include Avocado on Toast, Mexican Breakfast (chorizo optional), Poached Eggs, Pancakes and French Toast.
Dishes are cooked with fresh and organic Irish ingredients and the menu is filled with hearty and wholesome options. They describe their style as “countryside cooking from all around the world” and work with artisan producers. “We are currently sourcing our fruits veg from Nurney Organic Farm and Beechlawn Organic Farm. Our dry goods are sourced from Dublin Food Co-op, Our beads are sourced from Tartine Organic Bakery and our cheeses, pesto and chorizo are from Lilliput Trading Co.”, explained Aga. They also make their own natural infusions, jams and cordials.
Coffee lovers will smile, as The Thursday Cafe works with prestigious beans from Baobab Coffee and all their milk is organic (they’ve also dairy milk alternatives). Aga added that they offer a variety of sweet treats, including vegan and gluten free options.
The Thursday Cafe is located on 37 Clanbrassil Street and it’s open daily: Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm and Saturdays and Sundays between 10:00 am and 5:00 pm.
