Second place went to Adrian Megahey from Co. Galway for his capture of the Milky Way above Yosemite Valley, while Paul Brady from Co. Kildare took third prize with a photograph of Dublin’s Bull Island bridge looking back towards Clontarf.
This was the second year of what will now be an annual photographic competition and according to Topflight, “It is very evident that travel photography truly captures the imagination with each individual entry telling it’s own personal story.”
They added: “These photographs brought to life the many magical and inspirational aspects of travel from breathtaking landscapes, the people we meet along the journey, unforgettable moments, fascinating cultures and the little bursts of happiness and excitement experienced.
They captured the true essence of what it means to escape our day-to-day lives and explore unfamiliar lands and places. Many of the photographs featured far flung destinations whilst others were taken much closer to home.”
So sit back, relax, and let these photos take you to destinations all around the world.
