Watch The World Go By In Comfort with Creative Cocktails and Delicious Dishes – JT Pim’s Brunch Review

Stepping through the doors of J.T Pim’s via the Dame Court entrance on a bright and breezy Saturday afternoon armed with mighty appetites after a morning of retail therapy, we were ever so ready to indulge in a spot of languid, leisurely brunching. We reserved the highly coveted window seat and we recommend you do the same. The jewel toned colour palate used in the interiors of teal and rich green and gold along with beautiful light fittings makes for a very luxurious feel.

Once we finally narrowed down our selection we decided on Chorizo and Potato Hash – Chorizo, Fried Potato, Peppers, Smoked Paprika and Poached Egg €12.50. Such a great brunch dish. Crispy Chorizo and perfectly spiced fried potato & peppers topped with a poached egg provided many moreish fork fulls of deliciousness. We love a full Irish but there is just something so satisfying about the heat that comes from Chorizo, especially when washing it down with a far too easy to drink Bold Fashion, the J.T Pim’s take on the traditional Old Fashion is made with Natterjack Irish Whiskey, 5 Lamps Syrup, Aromatic Bitters & Smoked Orange Peel €12.50

The brunch time staple that we absolutely adore and find it mostly impossible to pass was our next dish of choice, the very trusty Steak and Eggs – 6oz Sirloin Steak, Fried Eggs, Potato Rosti, Tomato Relish €15.50.  Another hearty dish that hit the spot. Flavourful strips of Sirloin with crispy onion strings and potato rosti and crisp, dressed mixed leaves. Uncomplicated and wholesome, a lot like the venue itself.

A third dish was not needed but who can say no to the wonderful words Buttermilk Pancakes when they appear on a menu? Not us, that is for sure. Buttermilk Pancakes – Maple Butterscotch sauce, Smoked Bacon, Banana, Blueberries, Whipped Cream €12.50. We cannot speak highly enough about these warm, fluffy wonders. Stacked five pancakes high with the most utterly delicious maple butterscotch sauce complimenting the smoked bacon and banana to perfection. Washing down delicious food with a great cocktail is a thing of beauty, the Pomegranate & Ginger Bramble – Beefeater Gin, Lemon, Pomegranate, Ginger Beer €11.00 was a great recommendation from the very charming James who advised us so well on our food and cocktail choices.

J.T Pim’s is a great all round bar in the centre of town. Creative cocktails, fantastic food, friendly staff lead by Daire McLoughlin, a stalwart of the Dublin hospitality industry. Trendy, luxurious interiors, exciting wine and craft beer lists along with great food and the aforementioned cocktails make this a really great venue.Having experienced the brunch delights on offer we are excited to go back for dinner. We absolutely recommend you try J.T Pim’s for yourself.
