Ruth Healy said, “Nano Nagle, founder of the Presentation Sisters, was a pioneer in establishing education for Catholic children at a time when doing so was outlawed. Her enduring legacy is the Presentation Schools, the first of which is on the site of the South Presentation convent, now known as Nano Nagle Place.

The convent was also an important community hub where food and companionship were readily available and where communal feasts for first communion and confirmations were hosted. This is what inspired us to bring our sharing summer feast to Nano Nagle Place.”

The Cork Character Café pop up at Nano Nagle Place will include a three-course set summer lunch followed by a guided tour of the buildings, gardens and convent complex.

Tickets cost €20 per person and are now available to purchase from online at www.urru.ie, or purchase in store at Urru Culinary Store, Bandon or The Stuffed Olive in Bantry.
