Wine and cheese are just one of those things that match so perfectly that one simply calls for the other. If the idea of nibbling on an assortment of tasty, cheese bites from the best artisan producers while sipping on a glass of vino appeals to you, make room in your calendar to drop by the Eatyard this weekend.
The popular street food market, located just next the Bernard Shaw in Portobello, is hosting a Wine and Cheese Festival in association with O’Briens Wines, running from the Friday 23rd to the Sunday 25th of April. Expect plenty of samples, demos and even karaoke!
Guest vendors for the occasion will include O’Briens Wine, The Little Milk Company (Friday), Greenman Wines, Corleggy Cheese, Wicklow Way Wines, Toons Bridge Dairy, The Cheese Press and Ploughman’s Daughter (Friday and Saturday), as well as the Shaw Cafe and the Big Blue Bus within the bar.
As part of the festival, they’ve planned a line up of fun activities to accompany your enjoyment: On Friday, between 4:00pm and 6:00pm, they’ll be screening Sideways, as the night goes down, DJs will soundtrack the party. Saturday (1pm) and Sunday (12pm), the day will start with a screening of Sour Grapes and one of Pixar’s most delicious film, Ratatouille at 4pm. Check out their page for the full list of fun activities.
While entry is free, you can buy tickets for any day of the festival for €10 (plus booking fee) which will offer you guaranteed entry and entitle you to €10 worth of Eatyard vouchers (1 voucher = 1 Euro). You’ll also get a glass of wine on arrival!
