Start the Winter Warmer Wines Season with this Radiant Rioja Reserva

Brace yourselves, winter is coming… And with it, a celebration of all things cosy, from holding hands at the Christmas market to watching a movie wrapped in your biggest blanket, from mince pies to hot chocolates and of course, rich and complex wines to warm your heart this season.

Viña Pomal Rioja Reserva - Wine of the Week from O'Briens WineViña Pomal Rioja Reserva is just what you like in your glass when the weather outside is frightful. It is made with 100% Tempranillo grapes from the Rioja Alta, a subregion of the famous appellation known for its premium wines. Viña Pomal is located in Haro and its history traces back to 1901, making it one of the longest running wineries in the region.

Expect a very traditional style of Rioja, elegant and balanced, with a moderate ABV of 13.5% and round tannins.

Aromas of ripe cherries and cranberries are combined with vanilla and a hint of toast. On the palate, a pleasant vanilla note accompanies toasted cocoa nibs and coffee.

Viña Pomal Rioja Reserva is available at O’Briens Wine at €16.95 (on offer from €22.95).
