A Jewel in the Crown – Restaurant Patrick Guilbaud Review by Robert Jacob

DUBLIN RESTAURANT REVIEW

It was not surprising that Restaurant Patrick Guilbaud scooped up the Best Restaurant 2015 and Stephane Robin as Best Restaurant Manager in Dublin at last week Irish Restaurant Awards 2015 and well deserved it was too.

Ristorante Rinuccini Kilkenny – Restaurant Review

KILKENNY RESTAURANT REVIEW

This month our city focus was on the Kilkenny, 24 Hours in Kilkenny is guaranteed to be fun, memorable and full of good food. A stand out highlight of our trip was an Italian restaurant tucked around the corner from our hotel Pembroke Kilkenny. Much to our shame, even though Ristorante Rinuccini celebrated 25 years in business this year (no mean feat in such a competitive industry) and the fact we had been to the city many times we had missed out on this gem.

The Greenhouse Restaurant Review by Niamh Mannion

DUBLIN RESTAURANT REVIEW

There are certain meals that stay alive in the memory long after you have eaten the food. I have previously dined in the Greenhouse on Dublin’s Dawson Street and was very impressed with the food that I ate on that occasion. However, when food is that good, it places itself on a pedestal of its own making and consequently, as unfair as this may seem, it is judged at a higher standard.

DOWN RESTAURANT REVIEW

There are some very exciting things happening on the Northern Ireland restaurant scene these days. As such, it’s a shame that in 2014 the Michelin Food Guide did not see fit to award any of its coveted stars to restaurants in the North because there is some seriously classy cooking going on there at the moment; inventive cooking by chefs with a true desire to showcase the wonderful produce that is available.

Top Taste Haven – Hugos Restaurant Review

DUBLIN RESTAURANT REVIEW

Merrion Row and it’s surrounding burrow have no shortage of eateries to choose from , however try dining on a Sunday evening and you’ll find your options much more limited as we discovered last Sunday when trying to book dinner for 8pm. Anyway a couple of phone calls later and a little debate Hugo’s got the nod.

Bread making at the Firehouse Bakery & Bread School, Cork Review by Niamh Mannion

NEW RESTAURANT FEATURE

A sliced white pan can be bought for as little as 50c in some supermarkets with loaves on sale everywhere. Artisan breads, on the other hand, are more expensive to buy and require time if baking them yourself at home. It would be easy to fall into the trap of thinking that making your own bread is a whole lot of bother and not worth the trouble!

Something has been troubling me for a while, and it’s only recently that it has begun to come to a head, which from the outset requires a contextual setting. A straw has been laid upon the dromedary’s back, which is at tipping point.
